Reflecting on 2014: A Straightforward Year in Review

new-years-clockOn behalf of NIS Consulting Group Ltd., I personally would like to thank everyone that has had a hand in making 2014 such a successful year for our organization. From an operational standpoint, this was a transformative year filled with education and evolution. We were privileged to have had consistent assignments in both the investigative and protective areas of the business as well as establish new partnerships, which has broadened our capabilities.  This year, NIS had the opportunity to work alongside many influential people and visit an array of unique locations.  In addition, we relocated our offices, enhanced internal staff and updated our infrastructure.  To say the least, 2014 was definitely an eventful year.

To be honest, I cannot take significant credit for many of the positive outcomes that have resulted throughout this past year.  Truthfully, it was not until I came to the realization that perhaps I was the person hindering our success that the real changes began to occur.

Like many of you that run your own small business or agency, I had made the mistake of trying to wear multiple hats. Unfortunately, there were never enough hours in the day to complete it all.  I was a real believer in the idea that if you want something done right, you must do it yourself. A series of events in 2013 is what ultimately forced me to reevaluate what I was doing in aspects of my personal and professional life. It became necessary that I learn to relinquish some control.

  1. Aw, this was a really good post. Finding the time and actual effort to make
    a really good article… but what can I say… I procrastinate a lot and don’t
    manage to get anything done.
