Memorial Day: A time to remember

In fact, it’s more than just a long holiday weekend ideal for trips and outdoor celebrations to revel in the beginning of the summer season. The meaning is much deeper and much more important. It is a time to remember those lost while serving in the military, who died fighting to protect our country. Tips to stay safe this Memorial Day weekend

For many, the arrival of the Memorial Day weekend marks the school year coming to an end and the beginning of the summer season. It is a time to remember our troops, for weekend trips, cookouts and outdoor activities.  It is also a time where more people will be out and about. In fact, AAA is estimating the highest Memorial Day travel volume since 2005. According to AAA’s Memorial Day Travel Forecast, there will be a whopping 39.3 million Americans traveling 50 miles or more away from home this long weekend via roads, skies, rails and water, which puts safety at top of mind.  [Read more…]

Reflecting on 2014: A Straightforward Year in Review
